India bagged its second medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics on Tuesday as Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh won a bronze medal in the mixed team 10m air pistol by defeating the Korean pair Wonho Lee and Jin ye Ohin.
A video of the shooter’s parents celebrating their daughter’s win is winning hearts on the Internet. Shared by ANI, the video shows them wrapping the tricolour and all smiles as they posed for cameras.

The video garnered over 13,06,000 views as many social media users lauded Bhaker’s win. Reacting to it, a user commented, “Very good performance.” Hailing Bhaker’s parents, a user wrote that they deserve it as investing in a sport like shooting is a big thing for a middle-class family.
“I am very happy. This is big news for the whole country. I thank the countrymen for giving their love and blessings to Manu and also helping her in tough times,” Ramkrishna Bhaker, Manu Bhaker’s father told ANI.

Bhaker scripted history by becoming the only Indian athlete to win two medals in a single event since independence in 1947. The only Indian athlete to win two medals in a single Olympics event is Norman Pritchard, who bagged two silver medals in athletics during the 1900 Paris Olympics. India was then under British rule.
