A few days after winning the T20 World Cup, Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma was spotted at Wimbledon, attending the men’s semifinal match at Centre Court. Sharma posted a few photos from his official Instagram handle in collaboration with the official handle of Wimbledon. The photos have gone viral since.
“Welcome to #Wimbledon, @rohitsharma45,” read the post. Sharma was seen in a stylish grey suit and sunglasses. The official handle of Adidas India commented on the post saying, “World Champion in the house!” An Instagram user commented, “Our world champion.” A third fan wrote, “bro is literally defination of “HANDSOME.”
Another video from the venue captured Rohit conversing with many present there. This video was posted with a caption saying, “I’m just excited to feel this atmosphere” Behind the scenes of @rohitsharma45’s first visit to #Wimbledon”
In the video, Sharma expresses his excitement about feeling the ‘vibe’ and reflects on his understanding of what it takes to be an athlete, especially with over 50 thousand people watching. He mentions how nice it is to be on the other side of the field for once.
“I’m not taking any sides, I am just here to watch, see them play tennis. In cricket, people say may the best team win. But I’ll say “may the best player win,” he said.
