Kajol, who debuted in Bollywood with Bekhudi and went on to rule the industry, turns 50 today. With a career spanning over 32 years, Kajol now does selective films. In a recent interview, the veteran star revealed the reason behind doing fewer projects and also shared her experience of working with Saif Ali Khan’s son Ibrahim Ali Khan. “I want to work with people that I can tolerate”, she said.
In an interview with Variety, the Kuch Kuch Hota Hai star said, “I don’t do too much work. That’s my motivation. I want to work with people I can tolerate for the entire amount of time that I am shooting with them.”
In another interview with India Today in 2023, Kajol said, “Today, a film works on a formula and the styling and look of the character is based on that. Because of this actors have lost their identity. Everyone is keen to glam up for the role, because that’s where the appreciation is.”

Kajol is gearing up for four different projects including many firsts. The actress will be seen in a horror drama Maa, directed by Vishal Furia. “It’s more than just horror. It’s a psychological drama with elements of thriller and suspense”, revealed the actress.
Her second project is with the Aadujeevitham star Prithviraj Sukumaran, marking her first ever collaboration with the Malayalam star as well as Ibrahim Ali Khan, who will mark his debut. The trio will be seen together in the mystery thriller film Sarzameen, directed by Kayoze Irani.
Kajol’s third project is Charan Tej Uppalapati’s action-packed Maharagni – Queen of Queens. The film will reunite the actress with actor-choreographer-director Prabhu Deva after a gap of 27 years. They were last seen in Minsaara Kanavu.
Her fourth project is Do Patti with Kriti Sanon.
