As the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs is all set to conduct Swachcha Sarvekshan – 2024, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) earlier this month invited written suggestions from people and various organisations through newspaper advertisements to achieve “7-star rating” for the city during the assessment.
A few Ahmedabad-based voluntary organisations had recently assembled to hold discussions on the issue.
Among their suggestions, the organisations have also written to AMC demanding to hold a general public meeting on the issue after the advertisement inviting people’s suggestions was “not widely publicised”.
