As Anil Kapoor-hosted Bigg Boss OTT 3 concluded on Friday evening, actress Sana Makbul defeated rapper Naezy to win the trophy. While Naezy seemed to have lost the prize money of Rs 25 lakh and the title, he was happy to see his friend take the trophy home. In an exclusive interview with indianexpress.com, Naezy shared how he was hoping to win, but was happy for Sana Makbul. He also went on to share how Gully Boy which was inspired from his life story went on to backfire for him.
Talking about his journey on the show, Naezy shared, “I feel very excited to see the love I am getting. I was expecting to win the season. I played the game in my way, it was my strategy to be laid back, and play at my own pace. So people who think I didn’t deserve this are wrong, my contribution was very subtle but unique. I was quite respected in the house which is why I made it to the top 2.”

Naezy also spoke about how Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy, which was loosely based on his life, turned out to be a disaster for his personal life. “Initially, I didn’t feel bad, but slowly, when people started to react and developed misunderstandings about my life story, it started to bother me. They should have shown the truth and not fictionalised it, or else they shouldn’t have used my name. The director thought she could fictionalise the film, audience thought that was my true story in all this confusion, I became the scapegoat.”
Talking about Sana’s win, he said, “I feel very happy that Sana has won, I have supported her a lot even when the entire house was against her. We created an example of friendship in that house. It is an achievement that we both reached the top two defeating all the others.”
Naezy concluded, “I have utilised this opportunity to the fullest. People are loving me so I don’t want to look back now. I want to be on a straight path now and convert this popularity, love, and acceptance into success.”
