Biden says he’d consider dropping out if ‘medical condition’ emerges: Report | World News

Democrats presumed nominee President Joe Biden stated that he would drop out of the presidential run for reelection if some medical condition emerged, the New York Times reported, citing an excerpt released from Biden’s interview with Ed Gordon of BET News.

As per the report, Biden was asked if there was any reason that would make him reconsider staying in the presidential race.

In response, Biden said, “If I had some medical condition that emerged, if somebody, if doctors came to me and said, you got this problem and that problem.”

This marks a shift from Biden’s previous stance, where he had firmly stated that only divine intervention could sway him from the race.

The comments come amid mounting pressure from within the Democratic party for Biden to step aside, following a challenging debate performance that raised doubts about his age and mental sharpness.
