Google’s Pixel series is one of the most leaked smartphone lineups on the planet, and the upcoming Pixel 9 series seems to be no exception. From new design to hardware specifications, we already have a good idea of what Google’s upcoming flagship series will offer.
As it turns out, Google seems to be tired of the constant leaks and rumours surrounding the Pixel 9 series and has posted a new teaser video on YouTube that reveals the design of the Pixel 9 Pro and the Pixel 9 Pro Fold.
In line with previous leaks, Google seems to have opted for a pill-shaped camera island in favour of the Pixel 8’s design, where the camera island stretched from one side of the phone to another.
As for the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, the teaser video shows a huge rectangle-ish camera island with the cameras placed in two pill-shaped cutouts. A recent report by Android Authority also suggests, which spotted the Pixel 9 series devices on Taiwan’s National Communications Commission, Google seems to have moved the selfie camera on the Google 9 Pro Fold’s inner display to the left of the screen instead of the first generation Fold’s centre aligned camera sensor.
While Google did not share any additional details about the upcoming devices, rumours suggest that the Pixel 9 series will be powered by the Tensor G4 chipset, which is said to offer a significant performance bump compared to Google’s current generation chipset.
Last week, a report by the French publication Dealabs hinted that the Pixel 9 Pro and the Pixel 9 Pro Fold will start from €1,099 (approx. Rs 1,00,000) and €1,899 (approx. Rs 1,72,900) respectively. Since these prices are for the European variants, we might see Google adjust them in other regions. Google will be launching the Pixel 9 on August 13.
