Restricted Communist Party of India The (Marxist), in a two-page press note on Friday, alleged that security forces bombed Kottam, Rasam, Eram, Sakiler, Madapa, Duled, Kannemarka, Potemangam and Bottom on the intervening night of April 14 and April 15.
The press note issued by Vikalp, spokesperson of the Dandakaranya Zonal Committee claimed that more than 50 bombs were dropped within an hour targeting the Maoists, though they did not suffer any injuries.
In April 2021, the committee alleged a drone attack and released a photograph of a downed drone.
Bastar Inspector General P Sundarraj said these claims were part of a Maoist conspiracy to divert and intimidate people. “In Bastar, like the rest of the country, the security forces are engaged in the protection of life and property. Maoists are trying to malign our image as they are desperate to lose ground. Their leaders, all outsiders, are misusing the tribals. Now is the time for people to see their real, violent faces.”
The CRPF has also denied the allegations of Maoists by issuing a press statement. “CRPF denies all allegations of any attack on Maoists using drones. Maoists are losing the support of the local people because of good governance, which is why they are spreading lies.”
