Anil Kumar Goel held 6,500,000 shares or 2.76 per cent stake in the company as of June 30, the same as the March quarter. Seema Goyal, on the other hand, marginally increased her stake to 2,848,367 shares from 2,848,000 shares in the previous quarter. His 1.21 percent ownership in the company remained unchanged sequentially.
According to data compiled by Trendline, the couple has owned the India Gate Basmati rice brand since at least the December quarter of 2015. He has held around 4 per cent stake in the company for at least the last eight quarters.
This is even as the stock has lost 23 per cent in the past one year and nearly 67 per cent since December 21, 2017, hitting a record high of Rs 673.
As of June 30, six mutual funds held a mere 0.24 per cent stake in the company. A total of 69 FPIs held 3.32 per cent. Retail individuals holding KRBL shares worth less than Rs 2 lakh hold 10.97 per cent.
KRBL is the world’s largest exporter of branded Basmati rice from India, according to its website. It owns the world’s largest rice milling plant in Punjab.
In all, KRBL has two manufacturing facilities in Uttar Pradesh (Gautam Budh Nagar) and Punjab (Dhuri). It has four grading, sorting and packaging facilities located at Sonepat, Gautam Budh Nagar, Dhuri and Alipore. KRBL exports Basmati Rice products to 82 countries and leads the market consuming Basmati Rice in the branded segment.
