Kill Box Office Collection Day 3: Lakshya and Raghav Juyal’s film remains steady as Kalki 2898 AD fever soars, mints Rs 6.2 crore | Bollywood News

Karan Johar and Guneet Monga’s production Kill is holding its ground despite facing tough competition from the blockbuster Kalki 2898 AD. According to Sacnilk, the film saw an over 30 percent increase in its collection on Saturday, earning Rs 2.8 crore. This brings the film’s total domestic collection to Rs 6.2 crore.

Kill started its box office journey a week after Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD hit theatres. The film’s opening collection was modest, managing only Rs 1.25 crore due to the overwhelming Kalki fever. However, positive word-of-mouth and rave reviews worked in its favour, leading to an increase in its collection on its first Saturday, minting Rs 2.15 crore. The film saw further growth on Sunday, making the most of its first weekend. However, it is yet to pass Monday’s litmus test, and its performance on a weekday will determine its continued success at the box office.

Before its release in India, Kill received high praise at its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2023. The film was the second Indian film selected for TIFF’s popular Midnight Madness category and was the first runner-up in the category. Days before its release, it was announced that American filmmaker Chad Stahelski, known for directing the Hollywood blockbuster franchise John Wick, would produce the English-language remake of Kill.

Directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat, Kill stars Lakshya Lalwani and Raghav Juyal in the lead roles. Indian Express’s Shubhra Gupta gave the film 3.5 stars, writing, “This Nikhil Nagesh Bhat’s fast-and-furious tale is its own creature, which takes care to surround us with familiar elements, even when ratcheting the kill quotient as high as it can go.”
