Leandro Trossard’s 90th-minute goal halted the north London club’s resurgence as Brighton gave Brighton a 1-0 win at Tottenham on Saturday and pushed to qualify for the Champions League. Tottenham had won five of their last six matches and helped Brighton beat Arsenal last weekend to finish fourth in the Premier League.
Mid-table Brighton made another impact on the top-four run when Trossard beat defender Eric Dier and used the outside of his right foot to shoot the ball into the corner away from goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.
“I don’t think we were right from the start,” Dier told BT Sport. “We were a little slow to move the ball. We fought to create chances and in the end we gave a poor target. Today was definitely a slip-up. ,
Tottenham had won four games in a row but did not score a shot on goal on Saturday.
