WHO aims to stop monkeypox outbreaks by reducing human transmission

It is not yet clear whether the spread of monkeypox can be completely controlled, the World Health Organization said on Tuesday, aiming to contain the outbreak by limiting human-to-human transmission to the maximum extent. “Tools to manage this – including readily available diagnostics, vaccines and therapeutics – are not likely to be immediately or widely accessible to countries,” it said in a statement.
