Automation company Cybernetic will supply key equipment for an Australian project looking to commercialize marine bio-products. The company has signed an agreement with the Australian Marine Bioproducts Cooperative Research Center (MBCRC), a consortium conducting research into the commercialization of the country’s bioproducts industry. The total project value is $270 million.
With its expertise in supercritical extraction technology, Cybernetic will provide the project with extraction equipment and research expertise. It will be the sole extraction partner for the MBCRC project.
Mahesh Wagle, Co-Founder and Director, Cybernetic said, “There is a lot of work happening globally in ocean space exploration and they are looking to tap this opportunity. Wagley said Australia has 25,000 km of coastline rich in bio-marine resources, with great potential for bio-marine exploration to meet energy needs in health, nutrition, agriculture, aquaculture and biomaterials.
The extraction equipment will be manufactured in India. Headquartered in Pune, Cybernetic is designing, manufacturing and installing end-to-end, turnkey automation systems for the pharmaceutical, automotive, chemical, food, agro and other manufacturing industries. The automation firm has four manufacturing units and two design offices with presence in India, USA, UAE and Vietnam.
MBCRC is a development initiative between people, industry and research partners that has successfully bid, and has been awarded $59 million from the Commonwealth Government over the next ten years. MBCRC aims to transform Australia’s marine bioproducts sector into a globally competitive industry and a major export earner for the country.
