Amid widespread protests against Agneepath recruitment model, Union Minister Jitendra Singh There are deliberate attempts to create confusion against a “brilliant and visionary” plan, it said on Sunday. Allaying the apprehensions of the youth, the Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office said that this scheme should be seen as a complement to the recruitment process.

He said, “The scheme provides an opportunity to unemployed youth to serve in the armed forces for four years. Some of them will get permanent jobs (after four years) and those who are out, will get other sectors through finance and other assistance.
